Feng shui has become an aspect of interior decorating in the Western world and is still widely followed in its native land China. However, with the passage of time and feng shui's popularization in the West, much of the knowledge behind it has been lost in translation.
Feng Shui looks at every aspect of your house in terms of balancing Yin and Yang. They also try to associate your house with the five elements that are important in Feng Shui, namely Earth, Fire, Water and Wood. Feng Shui gives you information about everything you need to on how to set up your house.
Home Feng Shui Tips
- Remove all clutters in home. Clutter Clearing is a time- and energy-consuming process that will feel like therapy, but it will help you "lighten up the load," so to speak. It is an important & esential step.
- Always be vigilant about the state of home and how the energy in your home influences your well-being. Make a habit of paying close attention to the so-called feng shui "triangle" that is deeply connected to your health - your bedroom, your bathroom and your kitchen.
- It is important to find your birth feng shui element and create a home to support your personal feng shui element. For example, if your own element is Fire, you need to introduce the expressions of Fire feng shui element, such as Fire element colors (red, orange, purple, yellow), triangular shapes, etc. You will also need a strong Wood element in your home, as Wood feeds the Fire in the relationship of five feng shui elements.
- Define the Ba-Gua, or the feng shui energy map of your home, by using the feng shui compass.
- Make sure your home gets fresh air & good amount of sun ligh. These two elements are essential for good Chi, or feng shui energy in your home.
- Study the 5 elements feng shui to help balancing your home, as well as strengthen specific elements in specific feng shui areas.
- Find your kua number and position yourself so that you benefit throughout the day from your best, or lucky feng shui directions. Adjust the position of your bed, your home office, dining area, etc.
When feng shui is not applied properly, or rather, without common sense, it can even harm the environment, such as was the case of people planting "lucky bamboo" in ecosystems that could not handle them.
